The first Renall solid timber door was crafted in our purpose built factory over 30 years ago
Since day one the company philosophy has remained the same: use only the very best of renewable local and exotic timbers and employ accurate, flexible leading-edge woodworking technology to consistently construct a solid timber door that a master craftsman would be proud of.
We recognise that selecting a door design is a matter of personal choice, dependent on any number of factors. That’s why, on the following pages you’ll see some of our most popular designs but it doesn’t stop there. With a Renall door you are limited only by your imagination. Our unique door manufacturing method means we are able to accommodate most variations in timber, size and design. If you select an existing Renall profile, changes to your door configuration or dimension can be achieved with little more than a few keystrokes. Now, for the first time in New Zealand, you can create an interior or exterior door exactly to your design and dimension requirements, without a penalty for cost and time.
Woodworking craftsmanship, flexible production methods and leading-edge technology combine to ensure yours is a custom built, solid timber door made to stand the test of time.
What Our Clients Say
“Vic and the team did an awesome job. Not only did they make my kitchen, they also took a sketch of a winding staircase and created a full 3D render of it, assembled it in the factory and then delivered it to site and installed it, where it slotted perfectly into place.“
“We wanted to install french doors but we really wanted a period finish that was going to suit the age and style of our home. We’re so pleased with the custom work that Renalls did, they look perfect and now we can step straight out to the garden.”
“Opening a new hospitality venture is stressful but the Renalls guys were awesome. Our bar and interior looks super slick and having the bar custom made to our design makes it a pleasure to work in.”
Frequently Asked Questions
How do I choose the right door?
When choosing a door, you will need to consider climate, the direction the door will be facing and the amount of overhang covering it. All these factors will help to adequately protect the door and extend its life. Without adequate overhang, doors with modest exposures will require more frequent maintenance.
Timber doors with large panels are more adversely affected by direct sunlight than those with smaller panels. Doors with wide panels require 100% protection from the sun. If your entryway receives any direct sunlight, select a door with smaller panels.
Renall doors are designed for use in weather-protected situations only and should not be subjected to driving rain or long periods of direct sunlight. A porch or substantial overhang should protect the doors.
If the opening where the door is to be installed has less than the required overhang to offer adequate protection, any problems with the door will not be covered by our warranty.
Standard paint quality S5 or S6 frame & ledge doors will withstand exposure to the elements if kept painted (white is best).

How we make our doors?
Our Wairarapa factory houses some of the most state-of-the-art machinery available in New Zealand. The heart of our manufacturing plant is the Weinig Conturex machine. Door orders are converted to a computer file, which the machine uses to shape the door frame components. We have the Unimat 23E which is a four-sided planer/moulder that provides press-button, tool positioning, that achieves extremely fine tolerances. We have also made a substantial investment in high-tech user-specific tooling from German specialist Leitz and the Swiss company Terminus. This throw-away-tip tooling provides the constant diameter cutting circle, essential for accuracy and superior finishing.
